Dundee Community Schools

We are forced to cancel Bus 16 (Miss Michaelle) and Bus 26 (Miss Rebecca) am and pm runs on Monday, May 22nd. Students that ride Bus 16 and 26 will need to secure transportation to and from school. We apologize for the inconvenience this places on our families.

Good morning, Due to a last minute driver shortage, we unfortunately need to modify our bus plan for today, Tuesday, May 9th. Bus 25 will not be completing its normal route. If you have a child that rides bus 25, a bus will be leaving school to pick them up at 8:30 am. This is for all elementary school, middle school, and high school students. If you are able, please plan on transporting your child to school today if they ride bus 25, but if that is not possible, you can expect a bus to pick them up shortly after 8:30 am. We apologize for the last minute change.

Members of the Hot Rods Motorcycle Awareness and Suicide Prevention Foundation group joined us at the Board of Education meeting tonight to explain their mission to our Board and community. The group donated two benches to our district; one that is located under the middle school canopy and one that is in the high school entry way. Thank you, Hot Rods!

Planning to attend our Board of Education meeting tonight? This is the first month that our meetings are shifting to the high school media center. Please park in the south high school parking lot (the front of the building) and enter through door Z. This door is towards the east end of the building. The media center is the fourth door on your right after you enter door z.

Viking Nation, On Thursday, April 27th, our Dundee Middle School and High School Concert Bands traveled to Brighton High School to perform at MSBOA State Band Festival. Both ensembles had an outstanding performance earning them the highest rating of Straight 1's. The High School Concert Band also received A's in every category, resulting in a perfect score. Adjudicators commented that Dundee Bands were the stand-out ensembles at this event. Congratulations to Ms. Yettaw and to all of our hard-working Middle School and High School band students! Go Vikings!

Attention Viking Nation: We would like to announce that starting with our May 8th meeting, all regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings will be held in the high school media center. Community members can park in the high school's southeast parking lot and enter the building through the set of doors labeled 'Z'. All meetings start at 5:30 pm unless otherwise posted. Congrats to Evan R. and Matt A. for taking 1st/4th place in the Monroe County Trojan Build Student Design Competition! Evan and Matt receive prize money for their efforts and they bring the traveling trophy to Dundee! Go Vikings.

Attention Dundee Families, Next Wednesday, April 26th at 2:30 pm the district’s Sex Education Advisory Board (SEAB) will be holding a meeting in the middle school media center. An official meeting notice will be shared soon. Leading up to this meeting the district is hosting two opportunities for the public to view the videos that are on the agenda for approval. If you’d like to preview the elementary school, middle school, and/or high school videos, please join us during the following windows of time: Thursday, April 20th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am or Tuesday, April 25th from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Interested individuals should enter using the main middle school entrance at 420 Ypsilanti Street, Dundee, MI 48131.

To allow our staff and students the opportunity to show their respects to their beloved friend, teacher, and staff member, Dundee Community Schools will be transitioning from a full day of school to a half day of school on Tuesday, April 18th. Release times on that day are as follows: Riverside Academy - 10:40 am, Dundee Middle School - 11 am, Dundee High School - 11:03 am, Dundee Elementary School - 12:05 pm. We will not be able to offer our Viking Camp on this day.

If you see an ambulance at the elementary school/middle school this morning, please know that everything is okay. We have been in contact with the family of a student that experienced a medical emergency. The students are in a soft lockdown until the student is safely transported from the building.
