We are three weeks away from the first day of school! We have been busy getting things ready for the return of our DMS Vikings! School begins on Monday, August 26. DMS will have its Open House on Wednesday, August 21, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm for all 5th-8th grade students. A brief welcome and introduction will be made to all fifth grade (only) students and parents/guardians in the MS gym promptly at 5:00 pm. All MS students may go to the MS cafeteria to pick up a paper copy of their schedule and locker information. It is also available on the student portal account. Fifth and sixth grade new students to DMS are being offered a tour and orientation at 11:00 am on Monday, August 19; new seventh and eighth graders will have their tour at 1:00 pm. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

Our 8th graders went to camp this week, making many memories before moving across the street to DHS in the fall. We had an amazing time, and we owe our sincerest appreciation to the 15 camp counselors, all DCS graduates, for making that possible. These young men and women donated their time to serve as our leaders, and they were truly the perfect role models. Joining this year were Emma Helmstadter, Patrick Lefere, Sara Marek, Kaiden Chinavare, Maddie Doody, Skyle Messer, Mariah Costelli, Lia Parry, Megan Horkey, Betsy Nieman, Anto Ritsema, Liam Bressler, Trevor Schroeder, TJ Salley, and Caden Bellaire. Ms. Iocoangeli, Mr. Atkinson, Mr. Hall, Ms. Kurek, Ms. Capling, Mr. H, Ms. Spiegel, and Mr. Ost also joined the experience this year. You probably won't see this group around the community at all this weekend. They will be sleeping. The camp experience is just another example of why Dundee kids and our community are simply the best.🤍💙🤍💙

Many 5th grade students attended the Old Mill tonight to perform their wax museum projects for the community. We appreciate everyone who came out to support this event. We were so excited to bring this back after 5 years and we hope to continue each year. Thank you also to The Old Mill for hosting us tonight.

It was Jurassic Park week this week in 8th Grade Science. As a kick off, students became paleontologists with a fossil dig. They did a great job. We then "visited" the Petrified Forest National Park on a Virtual Field Trip. A lot of testing was completed and we rounded out the week by watching Jurassic Park.
